Astrology and Time Sickness in the 21st Century

Friday Night Lecture

Most modern people suffer severe time distortion, subscribing to the linear and equal theory of time, and although this line of reasoning fell into disrepute with the demise of the Mayan long count linear calendar, as the world did not end as we know it on the Winter Solstice of 2012 with any celestial event worth noting, it is amazing just how many secular thinkers still reckon time by todays’ distorted Civil calendar.  We as astrologers know better for the true nature of time is derived from celestial movement, and the real nature of time of cyclic, as it travels in cycles, and the great majority of the worlds’ calendars reckon time in the archetypal cycle of lights journey into darkness and darkness’ journey back to light.  Many are deceived today to believe that time is regular and equal in its flow, when in fact it is not. There are only two times a year when time is equal and those are the equinoxes when light and dark are balanced all over the planet.  The rest of year time is not equal, and that the distorted belief that it is equal creates what I call “time sickness” for those who persist in living in this state of delusion.  Further time will not run out, nor end in the “end of times” as some calendars predict.  It is rather the illusion of equal time that must end, for it is linked to disturbing practices in time productivity that is the bane of every working man, woman and child.  We as astrologers are aware of the cyclic nature of time, whether we are on Mars’ time, or Saturn’s time, and the role of the astrologer is help our clients transition out of this delusional sense of time, and begin to understand and participate in what we call liberated time, which goes under the name of enlightenment.

The Eastern Moon Through Western Eyes

Saturday Workshop

This workshop will present a comprehensive analysis of the Moon, and explain why this planet is considered the most important planet in Indian Astrology.  The Moon represents the fertile ground of consciousness upon which the drama of life is perceived.  Understanding the Moon’s sign, planetary combinations and phase of fullness, as well as its sidereal lunar mansion is to truly walk a mile in another person’s mind and perceive the potential of their destiny through their eyes.  Whether you are an eastern or a western astrologer this class will explain everything about the Moon from an east/west perspective and why it considered the primary planet of consciousness in Vedic astrology. You would have to be a lunatic to miss this class! Dennis will draw from his 1997 anthology; the Eastern Moon Through Western Eyes, published by Samuel Weiser.

12:30 p.m. – 4:30 p.m.
Location: 3185 NE Regents Dr., Portland, OR 97212 (SUBUD Center)
$40 OAA members / $60 non-members

Prenatal Eclipses and Soul Purpose

Friday Night Lecture

7:00 p.m. – 9:30 p.m.
Location: 3185 NE Regents Dr., Portland, OR 97212 (SUBUD Center)
$10 OAA members / $15 non-members

Would you like to help your clients go beyond love and money readings? One way to do this is to include the eclipses just prior to birth. Prenatal eclipses help you understand what the soul came into this life to teach and to learn. Combined with esoteric Sabian symbols, prenatal eclipses will help you take your consultations and your clients to a heightened level of understanding. This lecture will present techniques and ideas to help clients with their highest purpose. My experience is that it activates your higher levels of understanding as the astrological consultant. It also helps you to go beyond a purely intellectual level of doing readings. When you work with soul purpose issues with your clients, you are calling in greater levels of your own soul understanding to do so. This talk is targeted to the general public, so appropriate for non and novice level astrologers.

Geographical astrology, popularly known as AstroCartoGraphy®, is a popular method of mapping your personal power zones on planet earth. Today’s will help you go beyond the basics of cookbook-style interpretations of reading the meaning of a planet and a line. We shall look at how the entire natal chart can be used to understand personal power lines. With updated mapping software, you can now include asteroids, local space maps, transits, progressions and even fixed stars. Brief mention will be made of the use of relocation maps for mundane astrology of countries and leaders, weather and earth change events, and initial research into past lives. If you are interested in taking relocation maps beyond cookbook consultations, then this lecture is for you.
