2020's SIX Eclipses have been "eclipsed" in recent astrological news by the headline-stealing conjunction of three outer planets in Capricorn! But Eclipses are one of the most obvious astrological influences, and not to be overlooked. Many years contain only four Eclipses, but 2020's six Eclipses make it a year of activation and personal realizations. Stephanie will outline the dates and themes for next year's four Lunar and two Solar Eclipses (with an honorable mention to our Christmas 2019 Solar Eclipse). Despite a retrograde-heavy 2020, these Eclipses will be checkpoints throughout the year, acting as beacons and catalysts for important life changes. Get a heads up well in advance of the New Year so you can be thinking a few steps ahead of these potent Eclipses.

We must take action on our creative ideas in order to bring them into the world. But in order to be sustainably productive, we must also take time for rest, retreat, brainstorming, researching, and daydreaming. Downtime is just as important to the creative process as the more visible tasks. Rest and retreat are part of the creative process.

In this lecture, Dena DeCastro, a professional astrologer, writer, former college instructor, and mentor astrologer will share what she has learned about timing the creative process to align with planetary and lunar cycles.

This lecture is geared toward creatives, astrologers, freelancers, writers, and solopreneurs who would like to strategically plan their projects for the year ahead and beyond.

Opening to Creativity with Astrology

Afternoon Workshop 1:00 PM - 4:00 PM

$25 members

In this workshop, we will expand on the material in the lecture by including natal configurations. How can you engage your Venus and Mars to help spark inspiration and sustain passion for your projects? We’ll walk through Venus and Mars by sign as they relate to your creative drive. We will also explore Neptune and its relationship to creativity.

In this workshop, you’ll also learn:

  • How to use Mercury Retrograde times to your advantage

  • How to identify and use your down-times in service of your project(s)

  • How to schedule your creative projects in alignment with your transits and progressions

  • How to follow the lunar cycles, and how to use each lunar phase with intention

There will be time throughout to work with a few individual charts, so bring your birth chart or your birth data if you wish. There will be a 30-minute period for Q & A before closing.

(SOLD OUT) Judith Hill: Medical Astrology in Action

This event has SOLD OUT - registration is closed.

Medical Astrology in Action: Transits of Health

Morning Lecture 10:00 AM - 12:00 PM

Judith will expound upon the profoundly physical influences of the planets and demonstrate their medical influences in action. She will reveal visual proofs of this action, and discuss traditional remediations. We will share some fascinating chart samples. Cosmic influence as defined by planetary temperature, moisture and speed, is basic to all ancient branches of astrology. The “six planetary energetic states” resonate through all levels of our being!

In this paradigm, the imbalance of planetary energies, as informed by their excess and deficiency in the birth chart (or as caused by current transits to the birth chart), can produce physical dis-ease. The transits of Saturn, Mars and the North and South Lunar Nodes are of particular interest to health. Although all planets exert their specific health-related imbalances. We will focus largely on these four (see workshop for detail on all planets).

Judith will be celebrating the release of her two new books (twins!), and available for signing: Medical Astrology for Medical Practitioners; and, Medical Astrology in Action: the Transits of Health.

“A physician without astrology is like a pudding without fat”
- Nicholas Culpepper
(1616-1664)

Medical Astrology in Action: Remedials

Afternoon Workshop 1:00 PM - 4:00 PM

Entitled after Hill’s latest book, this exciting workshop explores the physical effects of the planets, Lights and most especially, the transiting Lunar Nodes, and traditional remedials. Learn to time the onset and departure of planetary influences upon the body, and ancient methods to preempt them if necessary (stones, waters, nutrition, flower essences, herbs). Discover how to utilize transits of Jupiter and Venus for assistance in surgical timing.

We will observe the charts of Bruce Lee, Betty Davis, and Amy Winehouse, in relation to their known health conditions. Attendees will become aware of the twelve medical quincunxes, and learn about this mysterious, yet preeminent health transit. If time permits, we will consider the Moon’s role as “the herbalist’s companion” in the timing of harvest, decoction and administration of traditionally potentized herbs, and the impact of the Sun’s essential yearly cycle upon natives of all signs.

In this workshop, we’ll explore a multivalent view of the Zodiac from a psycho-spiritual perspective and learn to listen for the inner stirrings and currents that move us toward our greatest good.

Giulio Pellegrini - AM LECTURE: 'Wait, What’s My Destiny? The Soul-centered Purpose of the Ascendant'

Wait, What’s My Destiny? The Soul-centered Purpose of the Ascendant

The Ascendant is known as the mask of personality, but ancient and early modern astrologers considered the rising sign and its ruler a primary indicator of life direction and the soul’s mission. In contrast, contemporary astrology often places an emphasis on the Nodes of the Moon and the Midheaven in assessing soul growth and destiny. In this lecture, we’ll investigate a deeper understanding of the Ascendant through a soul-centered lens and learn how to integrate its purpose with the Moon’s Nodes and the Midheaven.

In this lecture, we’ll take a trip back in time to ancient Alexandria and learn techniques from Hellenistic astrologers that still hold meaning for us today. Stacia will outline a journey of how ancient teleology and religious ontology influenced each other, leading directly to the foundation of modern psychology. She’ll demonstrate how we can look at our charts in today’s world using this ancient knowledge.

March WORKSHOP Uranus in Taurus: The Body Electric, Earth Liberation and the Rise of the Feminine with Emily Trinkaus

On March 6, Uranus the Great Awakener moves into Taurus for the next 7 years. What can we expect when the planet of revolution, freedom and innovation visits the Venus-ruled sign that represents our basic relationship to the Earth, our own bodies and the material world? And how can we co-create with this transit to call forth its highest potential, both individually and collectively? Taurean arenas ripe for radical change include: money and the financial system, food and agriculture, needs and values, and sensuality and pleasure.

In the workshop, we’ll explore transits of Uranus more broadly – including the classic “mid-life crisis” transit, the Uranus opposition. And, we’ll focus in on transiting Uranus in Taurus, working with participants’ charts to explore its influence through the houses and to natal planets.

Emily Trinkaus has been a practicing professional astrologer for two decades and lives in Olympia, WA. See emilytrinkaus.com for more info.

Carol Ferris on Animal Spirits of the Zodiac

The western zodiac was described by Plato in his Timaeus as "a zodiac kuklos, or 'circle of little animals'".  He went on to say that "the fixed stars were created to be divine and eternal animals, ever abiding and revolving after the same manner and on the same spot."  We astrologers tend to forget the animal spirits of our legacy, and tend to humanize the zodiac.  Cultures closer to the Greeks -- the Seleucids, the Chinese, the Hindus, the Persians -- developed beautiful and potent images of the zodiac animals with which they lived daily.  Especially in the western world, as humans increasingly justified their existence as the dominant species, our capacity to live in our animal bodies began to wane.  We'll take a look at the animal natures of our zodiac -- as well as a glimpse at those of other zodiacs -- and imagine our way into integrating our animal spirits.

Choose Your Own Adventure: Chart Workshop

In the opening lecture, we will explore how to weave an effective narrative that can empower you (and your clients) to embody to the stories you were born to live.

During the workshop portion of the day, participants will explore storytelling mechanisms, how to create pivot points in perspective, and how to build an epic narrative from a chart.

Through the study of astrology, we can ascertain the elements of human potential and distill practical pathways through a sea of possibilities. But how do we take astrology to the next level, and how do we step into a role of authorship within the stories our astrology can tell? The way in which we tell our stories to others and to ourselves can make all the difference in how we face our greatest challenges and our greatest accomplishments... And how we manifest our deepest fears and our deepest desires. Our lives are complex, more than just an elaborate unfolding of a fabric of chaos. By becoming the "auteur" we embrace the creative authority to capture the essence of personal journey as we fashion our own dynamic fable.

Sabrina Monarch - Evolutionary Astrology: The Astrology of the Soul Workshop

In this lecture and workshop, we'll learn the fundamentals of Evolutionary Astrology: a Pluto and lunar node focused astrology that affords us a lens into understanding the Soul. During the lecture, we'll explore karma, reincarnation, and depth transformation as it pertains to Evolutionary Astrology. We will explore chart analysis techniques that help us understand the Soul's karmic history and the Soul's current destiny (which is, however, in participation with our free will!). During the workshop, we will work with example charts using the Evolutionary Astrology chart interpretation methods. Attendees may volunteer their charts. Beyond offering a new way to perceive the natal chart, Evolutionary Astrology is truly a wisdom school that helps us understand the karmic roots to personality and life events alike. When we learn how to transform ourselves from our roots, we attain more agency in life, gain the wisdom to transform our most embedded patterns, and we step more fully into our self-actualization.

Laurence's Bio:
His Grandmother married a Gemini (his grandfather) and birth'd a Gemini (his Mother). As his due date approached in the Spring of 1982, his grandmother demanded either to push him out (and have a Taurus) or hold him in (and have a Cancer). The last thing she wanted was another Gemini in her life.

She did the best she could to raise a *Good* Gemini, reading him Linda Goodman's Sun Signs sending him off to nap time. The lifelong fascination with the stars has been deeper than just Science Fiction. 12 years ago, a romantic partner of his gifted him The Only Astrology Book You'll Ever Need. He finds himself in a community of interpretative artists that use centuries of observation to interpret our pasts, our current moments and what those lessons provide in terms of perspective towards the future.
