Dennis Flaherty: Astrology and Time Sickness in the 21st Century

  • Subud Center 3185 NE Regents Dr Portland, OR 97212

Friday Night Lecture

Most modern people suffer severe time distortion, subscribing to the linear and equal theory of time, and although this line of reasoning fell into disrepute with the demise of the Mayan long count linear calendar, as the world did not end as we know it on the Winter Solstice of 2012 with any celestial event worth noting, it is amazing just how many secular thinkers still reckon time by todays’ distorted Civil calendar.  We as astrologers know better for the true nature of time is derived from celestial movement, and the real nature of time of cyclic, as it travels in cycles, and the great majority of the worlds’ calendars reckon time in the archetypal cycle of lights journey into darkness and darkness’ journey back to light.  Many are deceived today to believe that time is regular and equal in its flow, when in fact it is not. There are only two times a year when time is equal and those are the equinoxes when light and dark are balanced all over the planet.  The rest of year time is not equal, and that the distorted belief that it is equal creates what I call “time sickness” for those who persist in living in this state of delusion.  Further time will not run out, nor end in the “end of times” as some calendars predict.  It is rather the illusion of equal time that must end, for it is linked to disturbing practices in time productivity that is the bane of every working man, woman and child.  We as astrologers are aware of the cyclic nature of time, whether we are on Mars’ time, or Saturn’s time, and the role of the astrologer is help our clients transition out of this delusional sense of time, and begin to understand and participate in what we call liberated time, which goes under the name of enlightenment.
